Holga - Street Photography

Hello people of the Blog, ...

So if your just tuning in now, I am going over some of the work I have done recently.

This series was an attempt to do Street Photography with my Holga.
I wanted to see if I could shoot from the hip and capture the elements of the street and accurately as i have with my 35mm slr.

It was a fun experience, I really enjoyed doing it. I always seem to have more creative ideas when I go out shooting with J.M.

I think that my experiment was very successful. People did not seem to take notice of my toy camera and seemed to just ignore it.

On top of that the shutter on my holga is pretty discrete so that worked out perfectly!
I think I was able to get some really neat shots!

My favorite shots are the one with the guy at the bus stop and the one with the man at the homeless shelter smoking. I just like how they captured the people.
But I kinda like the picture with the beard man walking into the frame too. Its fun!

I really enjoy doing street photography, its always exciting to see what I come back with.
That is the major reason I enjoy film so much. It takes allot more patience and work. But you end up with more interesting results.

Dont get me wrong, I still love digital. Its perfect for weddings, comercial, portraiture etc...

But when it comes to my art, my creative side, I love film.

Thats it for now,

Doc Dave, over and out.
